Choosing an International Removal Company
Underline Image

The physical move is one of the most important aspects of your impending move and if it goes wrong your first impression of your host country may not be favourable.

As a result you need to choose a removalist with credentials and that is at the forefront of the International Moving Industry.

  • Try and get 2 quotations to compare service and price offered.
  • Always choose a specialist International moving company
  • Do not be taken in by companies offering a so-called "global" service with owned facilities worldwide.
    - It is near impossible for a removal company to offer the same quality of service in multiple international locations.
    - Generally an independent removal company will be able to select a destination agent that best reflects it's own quality.
  • Don't be tempted by accepting the lowest price removal company
    - Like everything else you get what you pay for, there can be many different services available so there will be price differences.
  • Check your quotation carefully
    - What is the transit time?
    - Is your quotation door to door, or just door to port?
    - Are there any extra services offered - such as wooden crates for antiques or delicate items?
    - Are there any clauses or hidden costs in your quotation?
    - Check that each removal company quoted the same volumes/weights
    - In virtually all cases a removal company will charge on what was actually moved not on what was surveyed. So the mover with the highest weight/volume may prove not to be the most expensive
